Deaton Ranch raises the finest in genetics breeding Akaushi (AH-KA-OOH-SHI) Wagyu Certified Bulls to commercial Angus cows. The combination of Akaushi Wagyu genetics with proven Angus females produces premium beef to families tables.

In the past, we have been a terminal calf program and bred registered Charolais bulls to our Angus cows. We are cycling out of that program and are now breeding all of our cows to the best in Certified Akaushi Wagyu bulls. This allows us to increase the quality of our beef.

There is no doubt that the Angus breed is a well-known producer of high-quality beef and served throughout fine restaurants. Angus genetics are spread throughout the cattle industry and have played a large role in improving the quality of beef production and management. Our ranch selects the best in Angus cow genetics to combine with our Akaushi Wagyu genetics and provide the highest quality in premium beef to your family. Angus beef is known for its tenderness, texture, taste and healthy source of protein. 

But as a ranch producing meat for your table and family, we wanted to go the extra mile in providing the healthiest, best tasting, premium quality beef. Through research and experience, we found the Akaushi Wagyu breed.

Akaushi Wagyu cattle originate from Kumamoto, Japan. Japanese Red Cattle were developed to withstand the challenging climate and terrain of Kumamoto as well as the discriminating taste of Japanese consumers. Breeding our Akaushi Wagyu bulls to our Angus cows allows us to combine the best in cattle genetics to produce premium beef.

Health Benefits

Deaton Ranch Akaushi Wagyu beef is both tender and delicious as well one of the healthiest sources of protein you can eat. Akaushi Wagyu beef is the highest in Oleic Acid (an excellent source of mono-unsaturated fats) which is a cholesterol reducing fat source. The Oleic acid is what gives the beef its tender, rich buttery taste and texture. This fat also has a lower melting point which melts during cooking and gives an exclusive eating experience.
